Prime Minister calls for joint efforts in mitigating climate change impacts

The Prime Minister invites partners and all segments of society to join the government's efforts to address the impacts caused by climate change, whose effects have been severe in Mozambique.

Carlos Agostinho do Rosário spoke early this Monday evening, at the presentation and launch of the so-called National Determined Contribution, a document produced by the Ministry of Land and Environment.

The act took place in a side event to the World Conference of the Parties on Climate, COP26, which is being held from this Sunday until next 12th, in the Scottish city of Glasgow, in the United Kingdom, whose aim was to disseminate the updated document.

It is also intended to mobilize partners for the implementation of this initiative, as well as technical and institutional capacity building.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, recalled that Mozambique has been the target of natural phenomena that have a negative impact on various sectors.

He reiterated the appeal to partners and other entities to contribute to ensure the implementation of the instrument launched by Mozambique, this Monday, in Glasgow, during the COP26.

This Tuesday, the Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário will take the podium at the World Conference of the Parties on Climate, COP26, to convey Mozambique's experience in managing the impacts caused by climate change.
