Prime Minister participates in UN Conference on Least Developed Countries

The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, is attending the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in Qatar, representing the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.

The conference, which begins next Sunday, aims to reach an agreement on the establishment of a renewed partnership between the Least Developed Countries and their development partners to tackle structural challenges, eradicate poverty and achieve development goals.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, during the event there will be a debate in which the states will have to reiterate their position on the various issues on the Least Developed Countries' agenda.

Adriano Maleiane will also take part this Saturday in the summit of the Group of Least Developed Countries, which will discuss issues relating to the challenges and the respective ways of ensuring the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, the document says.
