The President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, will visit Mozambique next August. On the agenda is the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
The information was advanced, this Saturday, in Maputo, by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rugi di Maio, after a meeting he held with the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.
In fact, the governments of Mozambique and Italy are already preparing for the visit of the Italian president.
The head of the Italian diplomacy announced that his country wants to expand its investment portfolio in Mozambique, with an eye on the technological areas, linked to renewable energies.
On the occasion, Rugi di Maio reiterated Italy's interest and the existence of conditions to start liquefied natural gas exploration in the Rovuma Basin, Cabo Delgado, in the second half of this year. The exploration is to be operated by ENI in a project that includes Exxon Mobil and CNPC.
