Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa may be represented by the Portuguese ambassador in Maputo, according to the Portuguese newspaper Express.

According to a publication by the Center for Public Integrity (CIP), the President of the Republic of Portugal has a difficult decision to make: whether or not to go to Mozambique to take part in the inauguration of the new President, Daniel Chapo, on the 15th.

The invitation arrived in Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, on Wednesday, from the outgoing President, Filipe Nyusi.

According to Expresso, on the same day a letter arrived from the opposition leader, Venâncio Mondlane, informing him of his return to Maputo this Thursday.
