The Mozambican head of state, Filipe Nyusi, has decided to reappoint Adelino Muchanga as president of the Supreme Court.
A press release from the Presidency states that Filipe Nyusi made the decision using the powers conferred on him by the Constitution.
Muchanga's reappointment comes after the legally established five-year term has expired. Muchanga has been president of the Supreme Court since 2014.
Meanwhile, Adelino Muchanga's appointment is still subject to ratification by the Assembly of the Republic, the Mozambican parliament.
