The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, has promulgated and ordered the publication of the law on Repression and Combating Terrorism and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
A note issued by the Presidency yesterday, Wednesday (20), states that the head of the Mozambican state took the decision in the use of the powers conferred on him by the Constitution of the Republic.
The mechanism was approved a week ago, by consensus, by the Assembly of the Republic (AR), and submitted to the President of the Republic for promulgation.
The review carried out by the three benches of the AR, namely Frelimo, the ruling party, Renamo, the largest opposition party, and the Democratic Movement of Mozambique, the second largest opposition party, aims to respond to the evaluation recommendations of the third progress report for the country's removal from the gray list.
Given the need to bring the country into line with the rules and commitments made to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in the context of strengthening the national financial system and the consequent removal of Mozambique from the gray list, it is imperative and urgent to correct some inaccuracies and insert "some provisions".
