The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is taking part today in Harare, in the Republic of Zimbabwe, in the Extraordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The central theme of the event will be the security situation in the region in general and in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in particular, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
During the event, the heads of state and government of the regional bloc will also assess the performance of the SADC Mission in the DRC (SAMIRDC), as well as review its mandate to determine its future, before the mandate expires in December 2024.
