Tomorrow, Wednesday (07), the Mozambican head of state, Filipe Nyusi, will present his tenth and final Report on the General State of the Nation at the Assembly of the Republic. This time, the President's Report is due to be presented in the middle of the year, due to the general elections next October.
In his speech, Nyusi is expected to focus on taking stock of the ten years of his rule, which began on January 15, 2015 and will be renewed on January 15, 2020, highlighting the achievements of his government.
According to Letter from Mozambiquekidnappings, terrorism, hidden debts, corruption and the process of Demilitarization, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) of the former Renamo guerrillas, are some of the topics to be addressed by the Head of State, in a government marked by strikes by state employees, due to poor working conditions and the inconsistencies generated by the introduction of the Single Salary Table (TSU).
Teachers, doctors, health professionals and nurses are some of the civil servants who have already gone on strike in protest at the poor working conditions. Judges are preparing to go on strike on Friday for the first time since the country was founded, while public prosecutors are threatening to call a strike if their demands are not met.
In general, it is the main expectation of Mozambicans to hear from Filipe Nyusi, in what state (social, political and economic) he will leave Mozambique, after having been in power throughout his administration.
