The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, called yesterday, Friday (23), for the electoral campaign to serve to exalt Mozambicanness, celebrate diversity and strengthen national unity in the context of multipartyism and pluralism of ideas.
The Mozambican statesman's exhortation comes after the start today, Saturday (24), of the electoral campaign throughout the country and in the diaspora, in the context of the presidential, legislative and provincial assembly elections scheduled for October 9.
"For 30 years, Mozambicans have been proving to the world their unwavering determination to build a prosperous, peaceful and reconciled nation and their commitment to multiparty democracy," said Filipe Nyusi.
For Nyusi, this is the first time in three decades that Mozambicans have gone to the elections without an armed party, the fruit of peace and reconciliation built "as brothers of the same homeland".
Further on, the President of the Republic advised the candidates, members and supporters of each party, coalition of parties or group of legally registered citizens to freely disseminate, during the electoral campaign, their governance projects to the electorate in national territory and in the diaspora.
