The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is taking part today and tomorrow in Amman, Kingdom of Jordan, in the Conference on the urgent humanitarian response in Gaza.
The participation of the Mozambican Head of State in this conference comes in response to the invitation made jointly by the King of Jordan, Abdullah Al Hussein, the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, says a statement from the Presidency of the Republic quoted by Radio Mocambique.
Taking place under the slogan Call to Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza, the event aims to mobilize the international community to respond urgently, collectively and swiftly to provide humanitarian assistance in the face of the humanitarian catastrophe affecting the people of the Gaza Strip and other regions affected by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
On this trip, President Nyusi will be accompanied by the Minister of National Defense, Cristóvão Chume; the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves; Mozambique's Ambassador to the United Nations, Pedro Comissário, officials from the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
