The President of the Republic, Daniel Francisco Chapo, in the use of the powers conferred on him by Article 159(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Republic, has appointed Mateus da Cecília Finiasse Saize to the post of Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs.

The Head of State, in the use of the powers conferred on him by Article 159(2)(e) of the Constitution of the Republic, also appointed, by separate Presidential Orders:

• Silva Fernando Livone for the post of Secretary of State in Niassa Province;
• Fernando Bemane de Sousa for the post of Secretary of State in Cabo Delgado Province;
• Cristina de Jesus Xavier Mafumo for the post of Secretary of State in Tete Province;
• Lourenço Mateus Lindonde for the post of Secretary of State in Manica Province;
• Vicente Joaquim for the post of Secretary of State in Maputo City;
• Avelino Pinto Muchinefor the post of Secretary of State in Zambezia Province;
• Cecília Sandra Gerónimo Francisco Chamutota for the post of Secretary of State in Sofala Province;
• Plácido Nerino Pereira for the post of Secretary of State in Nampula Province;
• Bendita Donaciano Lopesfor the post of Secretary of State in the Province of Inhambane; and
• Jaime Bessa Augusto Neto to the post of Secretary of State in Gaza Province.

The above entities appointed by the Head of State will take office today, January 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at the Office of the President of the Republic.
