The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, appointed Edson da Graça Francisco Macuácua to the post of Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education this afternoon, according to an official note that MZNews has had access to.

Macuácua, until recently, was the Secretary of State for the province of Manica.

"The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, in the use of his powers conferred on him by article 159, number 2, subparagraph a of the Constitution of the Republic, appoints Edson da Graça Francisco Macuácua to the post of Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education," reads the Presidential document.
