This Monday in Maputo, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, was awarded the Banca e Seguros prize by the magazine Banca e Seguros. National Disaster Risk Management, Environment and Climate Change, according to a press release from the Presidency.

The document states that the award is given in recognition of the selfless efforts to combat the harmful impacts of natural disasters on the African continent in general and Mozambique in particular, and for the successful institutional reforms carried out by the Head of State.

The first edition of the award was announced last November, as part of the International Conference on Sovereign Insurance against Disasters, the Environment and Climate Change, an initiative of the magazine Banca e Seguros in partnership with the government, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management (INGD), reads the press release from the Presidency.
