This Friday in Maputo, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will lead the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Gender Equality in Africa.
The event, which will be attended by First Ladies from Africa, will also see the launch of the continental campaign: We Are Equal and the replica of the Global Movement: Zero Waste, which will be led by the First Lady of Mozambique, Isaura Nyusi.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement quoted by Rádio Moçambique that the participants, who are part of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OPDAD), will discuss the situation of gender equality in Mozambique and on the continent, as well as ways to build a future that allows all Africans, including Mozambicans, to prosper.
The International Conference on Gender Equality in Africa will be attended by the First Ladies of Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Kenya and Zimbabwe, as well as representatives from Eswatini and Rwanda.
