This morning (23), the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, led the inaugural ceremony of the 11th edition of the National Culture Festival, which will take place on the Black Bulls field in Tchumene, Matola municipality.
According to the press release, the event, which is being held under the slogan "Culture, the Force that Unites the Nation Towards Development", aims to preserve and develop the arts, culture and traditions of the different Mozambican communities, to create a platform for interaction and exchange and to disseminate the country's rich and diverse cultural heritage, putting it at the service of society and progress.
It is the largest event of its kind in the country and this year's edition will include various artistic and cultural expressions such as dance, traditional singing and music, theater, literature, poetry, photography, cinema, handicrafts, gastronomy, fashion, among other artistic disciplines.
The event is attended by members of the Central, Provincial, District and Municipal Governments of Maputo Province, the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Mozambique, artists and culture makers, guests and the general public.
The statement also says that during the XI National Culture Festival, the economic potential of the provinces will be on display, as well as offering services of public interest such as the issuing of identity cards (BI), the Single Tax Identification Number (NUIT) and health fairs.
The XI National Culture Festival is an initiative of the Government of Mozambique, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
