The Angolan President, João Lourenço, authorized the privatization of 13 more industrial units, in the form of disposal of assets, according to a presidential order to which Lusa had access.
The units, in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone, include poultry farms, steel and metalworking industries, the roof tile and beam industry, agricultural irrigation pivots, meters and electrical appliances, as well as container storage areas (transit and logistics terminal).
The document states that the Angolan government has already raised 919.84 billion kwanzas (1.9 billion euros) with privatization contracts for 88 assets and companies, of which it has raised 534.97 billion kwanzas (1.1 billion euros).
By the end of the year, the Privatization Program (Propriv) plans to conclude about 44 processes: in the financial sector, namely Banco Caixa Geral de Angola and the Debt and Securities Exchange of Angola (Bodiva), in telecommunications, TV Cabo.
Privatizations are also planned, in industry, of the fourth phase of assets in the Special Economic Zone, Secil Lobito - Lobito Cement Companies and industrial units of the CIF Universe, in construction, of Mota-Engil Angola, and in agribusiness, Fazenda de Sanza Pombo and Empreendimento do Cubal - Fábrica de Farinha de Milho do Cubal.
