Cornelder de Moçambique, through its General Cargo Terminal, recently set a new record in the productivity of granite block shipments, reaching an average daily gross productivity of 6,357 tons, which exceeds the general average of 3,400 tons per day.
The operation took place over 39 hours between 28 and 29 May and a total of 10,374 tons were shipped.
According to a source at Cornelder, quoted by SAVANA newspaperThe productivity achieved on the True Mariner is the result of "structural changes implemented in the way operations of this kind are planned and carried out, with a stowage plan drawn up in detail jointly between the Terminal and Supercargo, better coordination between quay operations and the storage area and better organization and location of the granite blocks in the yard".
Also contributing to these results was the excellent performance of the equipment recently acquired by Cornelder in Mozambique, the result of continuous investment in modernizing the fleet.
The modern terminal tractors, special trailers and large forklift trucks, as well as the dynamics resulting from the application of the new Terminal Management Operating System were crucial to achieving this milestone, the same source added.
