The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) fired tear gas at demonstrators trying to reach the center of the country's capital, Maputo, as proposed by the independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane.
In addition, to repel the advance of dozens of demonstrators, the PRM deployed an armored war vehicle on one of the city's arteries. But the popular group did not leave the streets.
The police have reinforced the contingent on the streets of the capital in response to the call for demonstrations in Maputo city center, announced by Venâncio Mondlane, to last eight days, until November 7.
As a result, the city has been running on half-gas since yesterday, with more movement of people and goods today. Most private institutions are closed.
