Economic and Social Plan and State Budget to be debated this Thursday in Parliament

Plano Económico e Social e Orçamento de Estado vai ao debate esta quinta-feira no Parlamento

This Thursday (08), Parliament will consider and debate the Economic and Social Plan and State Budget (PESOE) for 2025. The consideration and debate on the instrument was initially scheduled for this Wednesday.

The spokesman for the Standing Committee of the Assembly of the Republic, Manuel Ramissane, explained that the postponement of the session was due to the need to complete the annexation of maps missing from the document.

"The Standing Committee of the Assembly of the Republic convened an extraordinary session today. In the course of its work, it was found that there were no maps integrating the Social Economic Plan and the State Budget, which is why it convened to deliberate on the need to integrate these maps and in view of the fact that the session would start tomorrow, it decided to postpone the session until Thursday at 2pm," said Ramissane.

The spokesperson for the Assembly of the Republic's Standing Committee also explained that, once the maps have been received, the institutions will once again work to improve the documents to the ideal, and explained that these are "maps that include the distributions of the places where the Social Economic Plan is based, the budgets in each sector, these maps that include the entire Social Economic Plan and Budget".

The Economic and Social Plan and State Budget for 2025 has a deficit of around 127 billion meticais.
