The Attorney General's Office (PGR) in Zambezia province is investigating three public managers suspected of embezzling around 10 million meticais for the purchase of a boat.

The transport that was to be purchased was to be used for the maritime connection between Quelimane and Recamba, in the district of Inhassunge. More than 350,000 people from Inhassunge and Chinde would benefit from the vessel.

In fact, the defendants are defendants in case no. 114/04 of 2024 where they are accused of embezzlement, abuse of office or functions.

The institution's spokeswoman, Cristina Chihale, said recently that she had learned that, in 2022, the Provincial Directorate of Transport and Communications had awarded a direct contract for 10 million meticais to the company OK Corpotation, Lda.
