The Pan-African Parliament unanimously approved, this Tuesday, the motion of solidarity and support to Mozambique, in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado, reports Radio Mozambique.
According to the source, the deputies of this parliamentary body repudiate and condemn the barbaric acts committed by terrorists in Cabo Delgado, especially against women, children and the elderly.
The repudiation and condemnation also extends to those who finance and instigate terrorism and violent extremism in other parts of Africa.
Parliament wants the continent's heads of state and government to continue to support Mozambique in curbing the scourge of terrorism, which threatens to affect the entire southern region.
The motion of solidarity is approved after the intervention of the Head of the national group to the Pan-African Parliament, in the debate on Peace and Security in Africa.
Aires Aly warned that the terrorists' actions are taking worrying dimensions and are an obstacle to the government's efforts to develop the country.
The first ordinary session of the sixth legislature of the Pan-African Parliament officially closes this Thursday.
