Overtime pay: Teachers boycott exam correction

Pagamento de horas extras: Professores boicotam correção de exames

Confusion ensues. Teachers are boycotting the marking of exams due to lack of overtime pay in several schools in the KaMavota Municipal District.

Information to which MZNews has had access from a reliable source indicates that at the moment the management of the Eduardo Mondlane Secondary School is using primary school teachers and at the same time threatening the class with disciplinary proceedings.

"Without overtime pay, there is no exam correction," said a teacher from Eduardo Mondlane Secondary School, who did not want to be identified, in a telephone conversation with MZNews.

If overtime pay is not resolved, the teachers say they could move on to another phase of the boycott. "We won't start with the 2025 school year."

Teachers say they have lost confidence in the government because the case has been going on since 2022 and to date there has been no solution to the problem.
