Oxford Economics: Violence could dampen foreign investment in Mozambique

Oxford Economics: Violência pode retrair investimento estrangeiro em Moçambique

The violence in Mozambique, coupled with the moderate risk of conflict, could reduce the inflow of foreign investment, according to Oxford Economics.

According to the consultancy, although Standard Bank's Purchasing Manager's Index showed improvements in February, the country is still likely to face pressure on economic growth at the start of the year.

"But it will certainly be better than the figures recorded in the fourth quarter of 2024, which were affected by the protests," she noted, quoted by the News.

In general, the economic scenario is going to be slow due to the existence of isolated outbreaks of protests, which will have an impact on investor confidence.
