Renamo President Ossufo Momade says his party retains the status of the second largest political formation in Mozambique.

According to Momade, the party is represented throughout the country, where all its branches are fully operational.

In an interview with DWHe noted that the reduction in the number of seats in the Assembly of the Republic was due to electoral fraud. The Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique debuted in second place in parliament, behind Frelimo. But for Momade, this is not a concern, not least because "nobody knows Podemos".

Regarding the waves of protests calling for his ouster, he downplayed the cases, as they were small groups of demobilized people. In fact, he noted that the congress re-elected him last year and, as determined by the party's statutes, he should remain at the top for five years.
