Renamo MP Venâncio Mondlane believes that the party has several problems, but points to the current leadership as the main and most obvious one, which needs to be replaced by the will of the people.
"The most prominent, talked about and obvious problem at the moment is Renamo's leadership, especially the party's top leadership. The people, at the moment, are calling for Renamo to change its leadership," he said, clarifying that he has no personal reason "to speak ill of the president".
Speaking in an interview today on the Center for Public Integrity Podcast (CIPCast), he said that his fight to lead the party is an alternative to change.
He explained that he presented his governance proposals more than three months ago "precisely to give people time to evaluate the content and decide whether or not it's worth betting on the candidacy".
