The President of the Mozambican Police Association (AMOPAIP), Nazário Munambane, revealed on Tuesday (13) that the order from the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, for the government to regularize the salaries of the Defence and Security Forces, using the system prior to the e-folha, is not having the desired effect for more than 70% of the complaints.

"It's not having any effect because to this day we're still seeing members of the Republic of Mozambique police not being paid. Even those who are being paid are suffering deductions from various other allowances incorporated into their salaries. We would feel satisfied after the pronouncements of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces [that the order was being fully complied with] by the entities that should be overseeing the processing of salaries," he said.

Speaking to STV on the program Noite Informativa, he said that there is a feeling of abandonment among the police class because the government is not addressing their concerns. "It's true that police officers are tired."

"The problem hasn't been fully overcome. Some work is being done, but we're not satisfied. There are still delays, cuts in salaries and allowances. The police seem to have been totally abandoned by the Police Social Services, without medical assistance and other assistance," he said.

He made it known that police officers are still recommended to submit documentation to check and match the data. Even so, salaries are still being deducted.

"We think it's a technical problem and we hope that the authority in charge will explain to the police what's going on," he said, because "the Commander-in-Chief's instructions are not being fully complied with".

Nazário Munambane said that at no time was there any explanation for the salary cuts. Any request for justification for the cuts "the police are told to write. It's a long process."
