Senegalese striker Sadio Mané was announced yesterday as the latest signing from Saudi club Al Nassr, where Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing since December 2022.
Mané arrives in Saudi Arabia after finishing the 2022/23 season below expectations at Bayern Munich.
The value of the deal has not been revealed, but the German press is talking about figures of around 30 million euros. And, according to MZNews, Mané is currently the highest paid African player in the world, dethroning Algerian Riyad Mahrez, who recently left Manchester City for Saudi side Al Ahli.
Mané came up through the ranks at Metz, then Red Bull Salzburg and Southampton until he was signed by Liverpool. At Anfield, the Senegalese became one of the stars of European soccer until he decided to move to Munich.
