The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) has returned to Mozambique to present its Final Report on the General and Provincial Assembly Elections of October 9, 2024.

The report presents a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the electoral process, as well as recommendations for improving future elections.

Today, the Head of Observation of the EU EOM, Laura Ballarín, handed over the Final Report of the Mission to the President of the National Electoral Commission, Dom Carlos Matsinhe and the Director General of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration, Loló Correia.

The document includes 18 recommendations aimed at strengthening and improving future electoral processes, in line with Mozambique's international commitments on democratic elections.

"At a time when there is widespread consensus on the need for electoral reforms, the EU EOM recommendations can contribute to the ongoing political dialogue between the government and political parties," reads an EU publication.
