The metal bridge over the Calichane River, in the town of Goba, in the district of Namaacha, will be ready by the end of next month, says the Deputy Minister for Public Works, Housing and Water Resources.
This infrastructure will replace the old bridge destroyed by the rains on the road between Mozambique and the Kingdom of eSwatini.
During a working visit, Cecília Chamutota urged the contractor to meet the deadline and ensure the infrastructure's resilience in the face of climate change.
The destruction of the old infrastructure over the Calichane River in February of this year meant that the connection between the towns of Impaputo and Goba is now made via an alternative detour built for the purpose.
