The works to double the Ressano Garcia railway line, which links the Port of Maputo and the border region of Moamba, in Maputo province, will be completed by March next year.

The work, which began this year, includes the construction of a second line from Matola-Gare, in the municipality of Matola, to the Secogene region, in Moamba.

A source from the Board of Directors of Empresa Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique, quoted by Jornal Noticias, said that with the work being carried out, the company hopes to erect three bridges of around 80 meters each, to make the line safer and more capable.
