"Combating violence requires structural measures," says Nyeleti Mondlane

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Action, Nyeleti Mondlane, defends the participation of all social actors and partners in the promotion and protection of the rights of women and children, focusing attention on the most needy groups.

For Nyeleti Mondlane, the elimination of all forms of violence perpetrated against women and children requires the adoption of structural measures that include improving access to basic services such as education, health, and social protection.

"There is concern about violence against women, child abuse, early unions, access to health care. We need civil society organizations to be on the same page in the debates and in practice, showing their commitment to ending gender-based violence," argues Minister of Gender Child and Social Action.

Although Mozambique is approving normative and strategic instruments to combat gender-based violence, Nyeleti Mondlane, understands that it is urgent to accelerate the socialization of the norms with the population and community leaders.
