Nyusi congratulates Zimbabwean president-elect for second term

In his message, the Head of State said that he had followed with great interest the harmonized elections that were held in the sister Republic of Zimbabwe on 23 August 2023, and was pleased to learn of the election of
Emmerson Mnangagwa for a second term as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

"On behalf of the People and Government of the Republic of Mozambique, as well as my own, I would like to congratulate you and the people of Zimbabwe for the opportunity to lead them towards achieving their aspirations for progress and well-being. Your choice in highly contested elections demonstrates the trust placed in you by the majority of voters to continue leading the Zimbabwean nation for the socio-economic development and well-being of the Zimbabwean people," reads the message from the President of the Republic.

The Head of State emphasized that "while I wish you success in the performance of your noble duties as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, I would like to assure you of my commitment to working with you to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between our two countries and peoples, as well as within SADC, the African Union and the United Nations".
