The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi said that President Kagame's re-election comes as a reward for his selfless dedication and love for the people of Rwanda.

In a congratulatory message to his Rwandan counterpart, Filipe Nyusi said that the Rwandan people saw in Kagame a true leader to fulfill their aspirations for a strong, peaceful, prosperous and united Rwandan nation.

"On the occasion of this electoral victory, on behalf of the People, the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and myself, I would like to extend our warmest congratulations to you, the ruling party and the Rwandan people, wishing you every success as you take up your new mandate in the office overwhelmingly entrusted to you by the People of Rwanda," reads the President's message.

President Nyusi expressed his willingness to continue working closely with President Kagame to "further strengthen the excellent relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that prevail" between the two countries, peoples and governments for their mutual benefit.

Paul Kagame was re-elected to the post of President of the Republic of Rwanda on July 15, 2024 with 99% votes.
