Nyusi diz que o país está “relativamente” em paz

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said today, Tuesday (25), during the celebrations for the 49th anniversary of national independence, that the country is relatively at peace, after the armed conflict between brothers.

"We have decided to sit at the same table and re-establish perennial peace. Today, all political battles are fought at the ballot box. The big challenge is to control terrorism, which is troubling some districts of Cabo Delgado province," said the head of the Mozambican state, at Praça dos Heróis in Maputo.

Filipe Nyusi stressed that in order to make effective peace sustainable, the process of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) of the residual Renamo forces is at a very advanced stage, and that of the 5221 guerrillas covered by the process, as of June 20, 4,273 had already had their pensions fixed, and of these, 3,547 are in payment.

Quoted by Sunday newspaperHe called on the 948 beneficiaries who have not yet received their pensions to present themselves as soon as possible to the DDR's joint technical team, in order to regularize their situation and bring the process to a close.
