Microsoft co-founder and former leader Bill Gates said at an event organized by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday that he doesn't know what to expect from the future of Twitter under Elon Musk's leadership - noting, however, that the entrepreneur should never be underestimated.

" '[Elon Musk] may come to make Twitter worse. That's not his track record. His track record with Tesla and with SpaceX is pretty impressive," Gates noted. "I have some doubts that it will happen this time, but we have to have an open mind and never disparage Elon."

Even after raising the amount needed to buy Twitter, Elon Musk seems to be still looking for backers who will allow him to contribute less of his personal wealth.

Meanwhile, Musk has received an invitation from the UK to discuss what he plans for the future of Twitter and how he seeks to balance content moderation with free speech on the platform. (noam)
