Ninety thousand displaced people will have new birth registration

Around 90,000 internally displaced victims of terrorism and natural disasters in the provinces of Cabo Delegado, Nampula and Niassa will benefit from birth registration and the issuing of identity cards.

According to "Notícias", the initiative is being carried out by the Ministries of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs and the Interior, with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The service is part of the project "Multisectoral emergency response to conflicts and climate shocks for internally displaced populations and communities in northern Mozambique" and aims to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced people and members of host communities.
