The Municipal Council of Maputo City assured this Tuesday, that the new tariff for semi-collective passenger transport (chapas) will come into force from January 2022.

The information was revealed by the councilman for Mobility, Transport and Traffic at the Maputo City Council, José Nicols.

According to José Nicols, the readjustment proposal presented by the transporters is being analyzed by the specialty committee of the Maputo Municipal Assembly, and may be appreciated, on December 15 and 16, during the Municipal Assembly sessions. In this case, "municipal regulations establish that the new fare must be implemented 15 days after its approval.
