The new President of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the National Communications Institute of Mozambique (INCM) wants to expand telecommunications services at affordable prices to all Mozambicans.
"We want to guarantee accessibility for those who can't afford it. The service must be universal and accessible to all," said Helena Fernando minutes after taking office as INCM's new CEO on Thursday in Maputo.
Digital transformation is also one of the challenges that should be given special attention by INCM's new CEO, because according to her, it is beneficial for the economy and for the development of society.
Fernandes advocates good investment in infrastructure, offering the capacity to withstand extreme weather events.
Helena Fernandes is in charge of an institution that, not so long ago, was in trouble and mired in controversy due to the withdrawal of unlimited voice and data packages.
A scenario that many believe may have been a decisive factor in the dismissal of INCM's former CEO, Tuaha Mote.
