About 25 small and medium sized companies successfully concluded the first training and support program for entrepreneurship called iCreate. The training was sponsored by Eni Rovuma Basin, in partnership with Standard Bank's Business Incubator.
According to a statement reached our newsroom, the program was implemented as part of the local content plan of the Coral South project and aimed to strengthen the capabilities of SMEs already consolidated in the market and with high growth potential, in order to make them more competitive and sustainable in the long term.
The training lasted 12 weeks, and was designed taking into account the challenges and needs that SMEs face, given the uncertainties generated by the current economic climate.
Divided into 3 phases, the iCreate program was composed of individual counseling sessions conducted by a Growth wheel certified business consultant where participants had the opportunity to do a 360º assessment of their business.
There were also seven workshops aimed at helping participants identify opportunities to promote changes in their businesses, and eleven masterclasses that covered topics such as Digital Market; Health, Safety, and Environment.
The General Manager of Eni Rovuma Basin, Giorgio Vicini, highlighted the importance of supporting the development of SMEs, stating that "Eni and the Area 4 Partners are fully committed to the development of Local Content and this program is part of our efforts to improve the capabilities of Mozambican SMEs. This to enable them to participate more actively in the economic development of the country."
