In all, Niassa province needs 800 million meticais every year to carry out routine maintenance work.
The information was provided by the director of the Niassa Provincial Planning and Infrastructure Services, Américo Chivale, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.
According to the source, every year, the National Roads Administration (Central level) adopts a plan worth 450 million meticais, of which only 41 million meticais are disbursed, an amount that is considered insignificant, considering the needs and the extent of the road network.
This scenario greatly jeopardizes the normal course of work to improve access roads in the province.
