Niassa Province expects global production to exceed 50 billion meticais by 2024, the sector's authorities said.
The figure will represent a 7% increase in relation to the year's production, which is expected to collect 49 billion meticais.
The provincial director of planning and finance, José Guerra, was quoted by Rádio Moçambique as saying that the accommodation, manufacturing, catering and similar sectors are the ones that will contribute to achieving the target.
The data was announced at the second Niassa Province development observatory, which took place this Friday in the city of Lichinga.
Guerra also pointed to the agriculture, animal production, hunting and forestry sectors as other areas that will influence economic growth in Niassa province next year.
For her part, the Secretary of State in Niassa, Lina Portugal, said that this observatory aims to improve the mechanism for implementing, evaluating and monitoring projects, taking into account the policies established by the cooperation partners. Source: RM
