Last week, the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) seized more than 700 rounds of AK-47 ammunition and three mortar rockets in Niassa province.

The weapons were hidden in a field in the village of Chamba, Mandimba district.

The PRM's head of public relations in Niassa, Alves Mate, told Rádio Moçambique that the discovery of these weapons was the result of complaints from local people.
