A health worker has been arrested on charges of illegally charging four thousand meticais to a patient who was to undergo surgery in the district of Cuamba, Niassa province.

The information was given this Friday by José Manuel, director of the provincial health services in Niassa, as part of the celebrations for International Nurses' Day.

The Director of the Provincial Health Services called on health professionals to refrain from corruption, illicit charges and other evils that tarnish the name of this group of professionals. (RM)
