The sinking of a canoe due to bad weather on the Zambezi River, in the city of Tete, caused the disappearance of a citizen last weekend, reports the Radio Mozambique.
Four people from the same family were on the boat, carrying an undetermined amount of corn seeds for sowing on one of the river's islands.
One of the victim's sons, the eldest, aged 15, told the station that when they were crossing the river, the waves overturned the canoe.
The Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant is, in phases, discharging around 2,600 cubic meters per second.
