The Minister of Education and Culture, Samaria Tovela, considers it "not easy to pay overtime for three years in a single year" and asks teachers for patience, assuring that the process is underway.

According to the minister, who was speaking this Wednesday (08) on the sidelines of the opening of the institution's 1st Coordinating Council, the state is committed to settling the amounts owed.

"It's not easy to pay overtime for three years in a single year. There is a process of organization. Meanwhile, payment for 2023 has already begun and 2024 is being prepared. But, above all, we ask teachers for human sense and responsibility, because these are our children who can't be left without lessons, especially with exams coming up," she said.

On the same occasion, the minister explained that the payments will be made gradually. "The state has always paid, it may take a while, but it will always pay. It has already started paying the literacy teachers and the amounts are being processed in the provinces. We'll soon have a full account of how many professionals have received the money," she added.
