Nampula: HCN confirma entrada de três óbitos e 30 feridos por baleamento da polícia

The Central Hospital of Nampula (HCN), the largest health unit in northern Mozambique, confirmed that three bodies were found dead and 30 injured as a result of the events of last Wednesday's (27) demonstration, when the circulation of vehicles was paralyzed in compliance with the call of presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane.

According to a publication on the local portal Ikweli, the spokesman and general surgeon at the HCN, Hermenegildo Mulenga, said that all the victims had been shot with guns and of the 30 injured, at least three had to undergo surgery due to their critical condition.

The entries for these cases, according to this source, began shortly after 9am.

"The patients who came to our services, three were operated on in our general surgery and orthopedics specialties, two patients had intensive care, several patients had to be referred to other services and, unfortunately, we had three deaths, these arrived in a critical situation," said the surgeon.

According to the representative, some of the patients have already been discharged from hospital.
