Nampula: People fleeing terrorists in Membas are having their homes robbed

Nampula: Há roubos em residências da população que foge de terroristas em Membas

The administrator of Memba, João Cintura, is concerned about the theft of goods from the population as a result of the movements that residents are making due to the movement of terrorists in that part of Nampula province.

The administrator, quoted by the IkweliHe said that criminals take advantage of the absence of the population, enter houses and steal property. "We still don't have any new information about the district, here people are just running away, the population is in a bad way, because when they leave their homes, thieves break into the houses and steal and this is creating a lot of embarrassment and a lot of resentment in the population," said João Cintura

Despite some guidance from the provincial government regarding the collection of data on people who have been forced to leave their homes since the attack, humanitarian aid has not been felt by the population in that district.

"Here it's every man for himself, some people have gone to their relatives' homes and others are currently living in the woods, so far the government has only told us to register the people affected, in the case of those who have lost their homes."

It should be remembered that the recent attacks that took place on September 29 in the district of Memba, in the town of Chipene, were confirmed by the Secretary of State in the province, Plácido Pereira, at the celebration of October 4, the day of peace. The terrorists set fire to a total of 45 houses in Lúrio and Chipene.
