As of today, new tobacco marketing prices will come into force in Nampula province.
To this end, according to "Notícias", the Tobacco Arbitration Committee is meeting in Malema, at a meeting led by the provincial governor, Eduardo Abdula.
It should be noted that the prices currently in force vary between 44 meticais and 165 meticais per kilogram, depending on the respective classes.
Eduardo Abdula said, as quoted by the newspaper, that tobacco is a crop that has been an important support for improving living conditions, creating jobs and diversifying the economy of producer families.
As for the new prices to be set, the governor argued that they should reflect the producers' efforts and guarantee the sustainability of the value chain.
