Maputo City Council is looking for flexible solutions with partners to close the Hulene dump once and for all.

The information was provided today by the mayor of Maputo, Rosaqui Manhique, during a visit to the Hulene dump.

Rasaque Manhique said that until the dump is closed, the urgent measure to be taken would be to improve access to the solid waste dump.

The Hulene garbage dump is bursting at the seams due to a high level of garbage deposited there, putting the health of residents living near the dump at risk.
