As part of the International Literacy Day, which took place on September 8, Moza Banco preceded the delivery of material consisting of T-shirts, diaries, caps, among others, to the women who attend the adult literacy program at the Paulo Samuel Kankhomba Community School in Boane District, Maputo province.
The donated material aims to encourage the beneficiaries to continue their efforts to acquire reading and writing skills.
Moza's support to this cause comes in recognition of the role that literacy for children and adults plays in the positive transformation of the country, based on the assumption that literate individuals have greater chances of employability, of creating and better managing their own businesses, which will provide better quality of life and access to new horizons.
"It is the Bank's expectation in granting this support, to encourage these our warriors to continue steadfast with this determination to acquire more skills and knowledge, so that they are better prepared for the current and future opportunities and challenges," said Frederico Junior, Regional Director Maputo Oeste representing Moza Banco
Speaking on behalf of the students, the Head of Class thanked Moza for his gesture, and assured them that in return they will redouble their efforts to stay in the program, complete the training, and mobilize more women, "we are deeply grateful for this gesture from Moza Banco.
We hope the support doesn't stop there. We will remain committed to learning and calling on more women because it is very important for us and our children to know how to read and write," said Esmeralda Carlos.
